The Agency Expands in Northeast as Century 21 Grows North Texas Presence

Key Highlights

  • The Agency adds a 1,200-agent tri-state brokerage operation.
  • Howard Hanna expands footprint in South Carolina’s Lowcountry region.
  • Century 21 picks up a North Texas affiliate through Crew Real Estate.

Several real estate brands are continuing expansion efforts through new affiliations and acquisitions, with The Agency, Howard Hanna Real Estate Services and Century 21 Real Estate all announcing moves to strengthen their regional presence.

The Agency made one of the biggest announcements, bringing a large tri-state brokerage operation into its network.

The incoming affiliate, previously connected with Christie’s International Real Estate, includes around 1,200 agents and 26 offices across New York, New Jersey and the Hudson Valley.

The operation, led by Ilija Pavlovic, will now operate as The Agency One Rock. Offices span New York City, Westchester County, the Hudson Valley and New Jersey, helping expand The Agency’s footprint in a region where it already has several offices and its global headquarters.

According to the company, the move ranks among the larger brokerage brand shifts seen in the Northeast in recent years.

“While the industry consolidates around transaction volume and scale, we are growing around something more enduring: shared values, genuine culture, and a commitment to our agents’ success,” said Mauricio Umansky, Founder and CEO of The Agency.

He added that the latest affiliation reflects the company’s long-term philosophy of supporting independently operated brokerages while preserving their local identity.

Howard Hanna and Century 21 Add Regional Affiliates

Howard Hanna Real Estate Services announced a partnership with Carolina Realty of the Lowcountry, expanding its operations in South Carolina.

Founded in 2011 by John Aust, Carolina Realty serves Beaufort and Jasper counties in South Carolina, along with parts of coastal Georgia. The brokerage’s Port Royal office and property management division will now become part of Howard Hanna Allen Tate.

Aust and 14 agents are joining the network, making the Port Royal location Howard Hanna’s sixth office in the Lowcountry region.

According to the company, Carolina Realty closed around $430 million in sales during 2025. The deal also marks Howard Hanna’s third Lowcountry acquisition in less than two years.

“The real estate industry today looks very different than it did 20 years ago,” Aust said, adding that access to stronger technology and resources played a role in the decision to partner.

In North Texas, Century 21 Real Estate expanded through an affiliation with Crew Real Estate, a brokerage founded in 2022 by Billy Medlock in Van Alstyne, Texas.

Now operating as Century 21 Crew, the brokerage works with residential and commercial clients and also specializes in farm, ranch and land transactions.

Medlock said the affiliation is expected to support future growth while giving agents access to broader tools and resources.
